Portfolio
The following are products that I was involved in the creation of. They represent the effort of countless educators, designers, product people, developers, and other experts. I highlight my involvement in each project in the description.
Adult general English
EF general English (self study)
I was heavily involved in the web to mobile content conversion project, including activity template development and content revision approach.
EF general English (teacher led)
I helped with content developer recruitment, training, stadnards setting, and editorial work for private and group lessons for general and special interest English courses. Regularly worked with the online teacher management team to refine assessment standards, new product launch and training.
Speaking-focused microlearning
I was the project lead for this initiative. In 14 months my newly-created team and I built a content management system, developed activity templates, and created all of the learning content for 100 B1-B2 leveled English microlearning lessons with integrated self-assessment. The foundational content and translation systems were designed to support content in multiple languages.
Learning and content management
I was involved from the very beginnings of this product. I worked on user needs analysis, feature design and development, and data/learning analytics strategy. I partnered closely with the data team in London, product team in South Korea, and local education teams in Vietnam, Indonesia, China, South Korea, India, and Pakistan.
Children’s education content
Bada Rhyme (localized for China)
Bada Genius (localized for China)
I supervised the project team through the localization, revision and digitization of Bada Rhyme and Bada Genius content, providing translations, interactive smart-TV capable learning activities for the classroom, and refined learning outcomes to better fit local parental expectations. Bada Rhyme and Bada Genius are appropriate for learners aged 3-6 years old.
Writing and contributions
EF English Proficiency Index 2016
EF English Proficiency Index 2017
I was responsible for drafting the Asia sections of the 2016 & 2017 EF English Proficiency Index (EPI) report, which summarizes the state of English from a global perspective each year.
